Honoring Sheridan Moore: Funeral Fund
Donation protected
I am Joseph Moore, the son of Sheridan George Moore. My father just passed, and I am trying to raise monies for his funeral expenses and for his widow, Nancy Murray.
My father was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. During his young life, he went through tough times as his parents separated. My father moved around a lot while he was a child as his father worked for a moving company and forced him to work at a very young age. Throughout his life, he moved all over the States. While he was in his senior year of high school, he was living in California. Here he met my mother, Patsy. They met each other at a church dance and fell for each other. They were later married and had eight children over the 20-plus years of marriage before her passing. During their time together, my father joined the US Army, where he served his country with honor. After his deployment, he did not re-enlist so he could be home with my mother.
Outside of military life, he was the owner of several businesses. He ran a restaurant, a janitorial company, and a carpet cleaning business. During his time in these fields, he continued to serve the community and provided assistance to those who needed help. My father was the type of person to give the shirt off his back to help someone. Even though he was constantly busy helping others, he would not forget his children. My father would always try and take time off his busy work habits to spend time with us. He would take us camping, fishing, and to the movies. Even though at times we did not have money, he would still try his best to do something with us.
Throughout his life, he taught myself and my family the importance of treating others fairly and with respect, no matter who they were. My father also taught us the importance of family. He learned this because he had a relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He taught us that if we put Christ first and follow His teachings, we will live again and will be together as a family. Since his recent passing, it has filled a void in our family, even though we know it is temporary. I am very grateful that I was blessed with a father who showed me this great example. I am happy that he was the type of person who would go out of his way to help others when they needed it and was dedicated to helping others.
The monies raised will be used to help my step-mother, Nancy Murray, who has been left with a void. She is left with his void and the money he made to help them pay their daily expenses. We as a family would be grateful for any assistance to help with his funeral expenses.
Until we meet again, we love you, Dad. You have and forever will be loved. May you rest easy until we hug you again.
