
Honoring Shelton R. Williams' 30 Year Military Legacy

Shelton R. Williams, a husband and father was born February 20, 1954. He was a 30-year Army veteran who passed away at 4:56 AM on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was a Chaplain's Assistant for the US Army Chaplaincy Corps and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major (E-9). His career took him to multiple assignments stateside and overseas. He provided support to military soldiers, their families, serving the community, mentored, guided and encouraged young enlisted soldiers to obtain as much education as they could to be successful in life and their military career.
He bravely endured Stage 5 renal (kidney) failure and prostrate cancer for the last remaining 3 years of his life. The last 8 months of his life, he was bedridden, couldn't take care of himself or perform any normal self-care activities. His wife had to provide all care for him to sustain his life. His favorite pasttimes things to do throughout his entire life included playing the saxophone, listening to all types of music, collecting stereo equipment, browsing Goodwill, Thrift and Disabled Veterans stores.
All funds will will be used towards final funeral costs, final expenses, transfer to Arlington National Cemetery and other important family needs.
