Supporting the Cannaday Family
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Shelly Jane Cannaday. Born on September 23rd, 1966, in Jacksonville, Florida, Shelly left us to join her father in Heaven on the afternoon of June 21st, 2024, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Shelly was a vibrant soul who loved crewing for hot air balloons, crocheting, and all things Elvis Presley. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Known affectionately as "Momma Cannaday," she had an unwavering love for her family, friends, and ballooning community. Shelly was the person you could always trust and lean on, offering support without judgment and treating everyone with the care and love of a mother.
She is survived by her mother Daris Landreth of Clovis, NM, her brother Denny Landreth and wife Shelly Landreth, two sisters Valerie (DeeDee) Landreth and Kim Landreth-Tipton, and many cousins across the United States. Shelly also leaves behind the love of her life, Alan Cannaday of Rio Rancho, NM, her daughter Shalan Zisman and husband Michael Zisman of Rio Rancho, NM, her son Christopher Cannaday of Rio Rancho, NM, daughter Bryana (Breezy) Cannaday and fiancé Caleb Shinault of Rio Rancho, NM, and four loving grandchildren, Morghan, Madilynn, Troy, and Angelina.
To honor Shelly's memory and celebrate her life, a gathering will be held at the Cannaday household (613 Atlantic Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124) on Saturday, June 29th, at noon. All friends, family, and loved ones are welcome to attend.
