On November 4, Michelle Bellanti died unexpectedly. Shelly had a warm heart for refugees and immigrant families who may be struggling. In honor of that, Michelle’s car is being donated to a family who needs one. Through Called to Care Canandaigua, we found the perfect family! A young Haitian family (father, mother and 1-year old daughter) who need a reliable car for work and grocery shopping. To learn more about their story, please contact me directly (below).

Here’s where you come in … before we hand over the keys, we'd like to have the car properly serviced (oil change, tuneup, brakes, tires, etc.) — whatever it needs to work at it’s best. As well as having the interior cleaned and detailed. That’s the reason for this GoFundMe. Many friends have reached out to me asking how they might be able to help. What better way than to help someone else in need on Shelly’s behalf?

Called To Care Canandaigua

Called to Care, Canandaigua is an all-volunteer organization that welcomes refugees and other displaced persons with open arms and provides a support network to help families start a new life in America. We provide housing, transportation, clothing, food, medical care, and household items during their first months and assist families with school or language class enrollment and work authorization applications.

Called to Care, Canandaigua welcomed its first refugee family in December of 2022 and has helped resettle people from Ukraine, Haiti, Venezuela and Guatemala.
