Honoring Shaykh Zakariyyah Nurrudin: A Community Gift of Appreciation
For many years, Shaykh Zakariyyah Nurrudin faithfully served the Muslim community of Milwaukee and beyond. Through his teaching, leadership, mentorship, and dedication, he played a significant role in nurturing individuals, families, and institutions that continue to benefit our community today. As Shaykh Zakariyyah and his family prepare to relocate to their homeland of Ghana, we are launching this campaign to provide a meaningful gift from the community he served so faithfully. This effort is not born out of obligation, but out of gratitude. Many of us learned from him, sought his advice, prayed behind him, entrusted him with our families, and witnessed his sincere commitment to serving the deen and the community. We now have an opportunity to give back and help ease this important transition for him and his family.
Shaykh Zakariyyah and his wife have been facing health challenges, which has prompted their return home to Ghana, where most of their loved ones are. Our goal is to raise funds that will help cover relocation expenses, medical needs, and provide a comfortable foundation as they begin this next chapter of their lives. Whether you knew Shaykh Zakariyyah personally or simply benefited from the institutions and community he helped build, we invite you to participate in this collective expression of appreciation. The Prophet ﷺ taught us the importance of recognizing and rewarding those who do good.
