On February 18, 2026, our family experienced an unimaginable tragedy. A fire destroyed the trailer at my grandfather’s property, and we lost my brother, Shawn Douglas White, along with his two beloved dogs, Luna and Rexy. Shawn had the biggest laugh and a stubborn, loving heart. He was strong, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family. In the months leading up to the fire, Shawn and my mom, Caralee Terry, worked side by side remodeling the trailer. My mom had invested a significant portion of her retirement savings into the project so she could move closer to care for her father, who has serious heart conditions. It was a labor of love and stability for our family, and it was nearly complete. In a matter of moments, everything was gone. The cleanup alone will be costly, with a fully burned structure and large amounts of scrap and debris that must be removed. In addition to replacing the trailer, our family is also facing expenses related to Shawn’s services and the many unexpected costs that come with a tragedy like this. We are not a family that typically asks for help, but right now we simply cannot carry this alone. If you are able to donate or share, we are deeply grateful. Every bit of support means more than words can express. Thank you for helping us honor Shawn and begin the difficult process of rebuilding.
