Honoring Sharrell Rushing: A Legacy of Love for Her Children

Hi Family, Friends, and Kind Strangers.. My name is Jamila Perez (Rushing), and I still don’t believe this is real, but I want to help my family, so here we go.

My cousin Sharrell was one of the sweetest humans you could ever be blessed to meet, and she had a smile that could shift an entire room. She cared for her children so deeply and did everything in her power to always get them what they needed and wanted. She loved and was loved by her parents and siblings and hardly ever missed an opportunity to get together for any occasion, even when she wasn’t feeling well. Sharrell has allowed countless people to live with her in their time of need; she’d give you the shirt off her back if she loved you and not think twice. She was an incredible person overall with a blossoming social media career where she documented a lot of her journey, fought harder battles than anyone ever knew, and just wanted to see her family happy and thriving.

We come to you with heavy hearts to let you know that Sharrell fought an incredibly hard battle against lupus and gained her wings to receive eternal peace on May 9th, 2025. She has 2 children who love her dearly, and they are going to be raised by her parents. We are raising money to help make sure Sharrell’s children are provided with everything they need and want moving forward without their amazing mother!!
