Sharnanda Keaton was my second eldest sister, one of five siblings born to Jane and Daniel Keaton. She grew up in Orlando, Florida, and from a young age, she showed a remarkable spirit and determination. Sharnanda attended Orlo Vista Elementary, Robinswood Middle, and Dr. Phillips High School before graduating from Wymore High School. She went on to pursue a career as a medical assistant, excelling in her field and always striving to provide for her family.
Throughout her life, Sharnanda faced more than her share of hardships. She endured the heartbreaking loss of her daughter to meningitis, survived a tragic accident that claimed the lives of her boyfriend and cousin, and navigated the pain of two divorces. Despite these challenges, she found the strength to keep going, raising her children and doing her best to care for them. Over time, the weight of these traumas took a toll on her mental health, and she was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia. She also battled polycystic kidney disease, a hereditary illness that led to kidney failure and required dialysis. Even as her health declined, Sharnanda continued to fight with courage and grace.
Sadly, the damage to her health became too great, and Sharnanda passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. We are now raising funds to help cover her funeral and burial expenses, so we can honor her memory and give her the farewell she deserves. Thank you to all family and friends, and to those who may not have known Sharnanda—your support means the world to us. To know her was to love her, and I am deeply grateful for any help you can give.
