Shakiah was just 23 years old when her life was taken from us, six days before her birthday over her income tax money. She had recently graduated college and was excited to begin her next chapter, but that future was stolen from her and our family. Now, we are left trying to pick up the pieces and figure out how to honor her memory and give her the dignity she deserves. Her story has been wrongfully worded online, but as her older brother, I am committed to speaking the truth and sharing who she really was. Shakiah was full of hope, ambition, and love. She had a mission to complete, and even though her life was cut short, her impact continues.
We want to give her a beautiful farewell, including a gown and makeup for her final outfit, and a funeral service that celebrates her life. We are asking for as much help as possible from anyone in Cleveland and beyond, especially those who have lost someone to gun violence. Your donations and contributions will help us cover funeral expenses and honor Shakiah’s memory.
With your support, we can give her the dignity she deserves and keep her story alive. Thank you for helping us seek justice and celebrate her life.
