Honor Sgt. Lee Sorensen ~ Let's Show His Family Our Love!

My name is Jennifer Bjorn, and I am blessed to call Lanette Sorensen my friend. Lanette lost her husband, Sergeant Lee Sorensen, in a senseless act of violence in the line of duty on August 17, 2025. Just one day before he and Lanette's 31st anniversary. Lanette and Lee's children have had their world turned upside down in the blink of an eye as well. Our community has been rocked by this tragic event where two officers were killed, another injured along with his K9 officer. Things like this don't happen in our small, tight-knit community.

Lee has been serving our community for 16 years. He received the Distinguished Service Award in February of this year from the Tremonton Fire Department. He loved working with everyone in a variety of positions to help them become better at whatever it was they were trying to accomplish.

Lanette gives to our community in so many ways. Lanette has had a huge impact in our community through her EMS training and has touched so many lives. She is the founder of and a 4H Leader locally for Paws For Applause. This is a local 4H Club for kids who learn to train their dogs and then compete. Just last weekend, we had our year-end event. Lanette worked so hard and always goes above and beyond for her 4H kids. She gives back to her community in so many ways; this is just a small example.

Lanette's family is always there to help and support, and the loss of Lee is so devastating to them. Money doesn't change what has happened, but we can help ease the financial burden that comes along with these types of tragic events.
