Our treasured friend and classmate, Scotty Sundermeier, has passed on. Scotty was a kind, joyful soul who loved nature, lived with gentle spirit, and brought light to those around him. I am asking for support to help his family with expenses and to honor Scotty’s memory the way he deserves.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 2nd, from 4pm-7pm, followed by a memorial service at 7pm at Walker Funeral Home in Perrysburg.

Following the 7pm service, friends and family are encouraged and welcome to join us at Danny’s Cafe in Rossford - please come join us to share our love for Scotty ❤️

Hi, my name is Annie Rutherford, a 2013 Perrysburg alum. It breaks my heart to say that one of our beloved classmates, Scotty Sundermeier, has completed his earthly journey and returned to the Tao. I am asking our yellow jacket family to come together to support one of our own.

Scotty was incredibly kind, loving, caring, silly and passionate about everything in his life (especially the earth and its magnificent creations)! Whenever he was around, there was no shortage of smiles or laughs.

He was a cherished son, brother, friend, and veteran who touched so many lives.

From his Dad:
“Celebrating the life of Scotty Sundermeier

It is with both deep sadness and reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved son. Scott was a wonderful son and brother, a joyful silly smile we will all miss dearly.

Scotty loved life, being in nature, exploring this beautiful creation. After a life lived in harmony with the Tao, He has transitioned peacefully, returning to the universal flow from which all things arise.

Throughout his time with us, Scotty had to be different and explore doing that he discovered Taoism. In this gentle religion of peace and unity, he embodied the wisdom of gentle yielding and quiet strength. He taught us by example to find balance, to appreciate the simple rhythm of life, and to live with tranquility.

We find comfort in the words of the Tao, That he always urged us to turn to "The gentle and yielding are the disciples of life". Though our hearts grieve the absence of him, we believe that Scott’s spirit is now free, unburdened, and on its journey toward a new state of being. We will never understand the divine timing of this, our hearts are full of grief and questions.

Please keep us all in your prayers as we navigate this new phase of life. We invite you to honor his memory by embracing the quiet moments, go look for him in nature, and live with a gentle heart.

We will update this post with more details when they arise.”

I will be sure to update with new details as we get them. Let’s come together for Scotty.. to give him the peace and remembrance he deserves and to help his family during this time.

Thank you ❤️
