On January 3rd, I said goodbye to my closest friend, Scott “Scooter” Ward. Scooter passed away due to complications following a surgery in December, leaving behind countless people who loved him deeply and are heartbroken by his loss.
Scooter was one of the most incredible, unique individuals I have ever known, and I will miss him more than words can express. Before he passed, I made him a promise that his wife, Robin, would be taken care of—and that is a promise I take very seriously.
Robin has always put others before herself, especially Scooter, and now it’s time for us to take care of her. She will be incredibly uncomfortable with this (sorry, Robin), but a promise is a promise.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help, and this is the best way I know how to honor Scooter and support Robin during this difficult time.
Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, love, and well-wishes—and most of all, for sharing the stories of what Scooter meant to each of you.
