My name is Savannah Thornton.

I'm creating this GoFundMe for my mother.

My amazing, loving mother passed away on July 11th, 2026 under unfortunate circumstances.

On July 8th, 2026, she was camping with her boyfriend and started to not feel well. She told him she was going to go to the bathroom, it was quiet for about 30 seconds, he then asked her if she was okay, then he heard the "thump" of her falling. He tried to get to her, but because they were in a camper, she was wedged in between the toilet and the door. By the time he got to her, she was lifeless and unresponsive. He called 911 and was doing CPR. The ambulance got there and they were also doing CPR. They lost her and had to revive her 4 times in the ambulance and at the ER.

She was then placed on a ventilator in the ICU at Henry Ford Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI.

Unfortunately, because of the loss of oxygen to her brain, it was just too severe and she was deemed legally brain dead.

On July 11th, I had to make the hardest decision in pulling her off of life support.

I was there with her everyday. I was there when her boyfriend called me at 10:35pm on July 8th. I rushed to the hospital. I was there all night. And I was there when she took her last breath.

I know this is not the ending she wanted. And I know I can't give her the funeral that she wanted. But I'm raising these funds to give her a decent send off. To cremate her and give her a celebration so that people can honor her memory, even if her body isn't there.
