Honoring Sarah James & Supporting Her Children’s Future

On Christmas, our community was heartbroken by the unexpected passing of Sarah James, a devoted wife, loving mother, and passionate advocate for education. Sarah leaves behind her husband, Joe James, and their three teenage children Eliot, JB, and Zoe, whose lives have been forever changed by this loss.

Sarah believed deeply in the power of education to open doors and create opportunity. Throughout her life, she and her family generously volunteered their time to causes that promoted accessibility, inclusion, and strong support systems for diversity in STEM. She lived her values every day, always focused on building a more equitable future for the next generation.

This fundraiser has been created to honor Sarah’s legacy by helping support what mattered most to her: her children’s education. The funds raised will go toward college expenses for her three kids, helping ease the financial burden ahead and allowing them to pursue their dreams with the same curiosity, determination, and compassion their mother inspired in them.
