Hello, my name is Monique, and with a heavy heart, I’m sharing that I recently lost my dad, Sammy Cardona. Nothing prepares a child for something like this, no matter how complicated life may have been. I remember my dad as the one who rode skateboards with me and built Legos by my side, the one who made ordinary days feel special. To some people, those may seem like small moments, but to me they are memories that shaped my childhood and will stay with me forever.
Although it isn’t easy to think about my dad’s battle with addiction, it’s impossible to forget who Sammy Cardona truly was. I will always remember the sound of his laughter, the kindness in his heart, and his undeniable humor. My dad was smart, loving, and kind. Addiction is a disease, but everyone who loved him knows there was a person beyond that disease ,
a person who mattered, who was deeply loved, and who was more than his struggles.
As we prepare to lay him to rest, I’m humbly asking for any support you feel led to give. Every donation, every share, and every prayer means more than I can express. I’m leaning on my faith in Jesus for strength and comfort during this time, trusting that God is close to the brokenhearted. Thank you for helping us honor his life and give him a peaceful goodbye.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
