Honoring Sal Ortiz: Donations for his children

Donation protected
We are mourning the loss of our beloved Salvador Isaiah Ortiz, who passed on August 21st, 2024. With a larger-than-life personality that could bring a smile and a laugh to any face, Sal was genuinely shy. A playful personality that loved everything from kids to reptiles and especially his beloved “Charlie” the tortoise. He took pride in his skills as an Executive Chef. He had an incredible capacity to serve a banquet for hundreds of people and manage large-scale affairs. He had a genuine love of entertaining people with his inappropriate jokes and endless sense of humor. However, his life was not void of adversity. Covid was harsh on the hospitality and services business. He struggled with his high expectations of various establishments and often felt at the mercy of patrons that squandered his talents. He was no stranger to challenge and always excelled at impressing with his culinary skills. Most of all, he will leave a hole in the hearts of so many that knew him and loved him. He was the beloved baby brother to Tiffany Hensley, Stacy Nahas (and brother-in-law Selim), Nicholas Brosamer (and sister-in-law Diana), and Big Salvador Ortiz. He was an adoring father to son “Baby” Salvador Ortiz, and his princess daughters Angelica “Jelly” Ortiz, and Isabella “Izzy-Bella” Ortiz.

His absence is felt deeply by his extensive family of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and beloved friends. A special note to his best friend in life, Travis Gress, who shared years of memories and who was by his side always. And to his “other siblings,” the Vargas family, who showed him love always. To all his cherished friends who came out in droves with their love and support to help, hug, and cry with us. And to the women who loved him, he loved fiercely and deeply, thank you for loving him… you all know who you are ❤️❤️❤️

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, 2024, in Chicago. Additional details on location and time will be provided soon.

All funds raised will go towards education or life needs for Salvador’s three children (Baby Sal, Angelica “Jelly,” and Isabella “Izzy-Bella”).

With many thanks from all of his loved ones…
