In Loving Memory of Henry Russell Giles: A Hero’s Legacy

We come together in heartbreak to honor the life of Henry Russell Giles, a man of great faith who showed us all what true courage and love look like. On Tuesday, March 24th, Russ made the ultimate sacrifice protecting an older woman from harm, and in that act, he gave his life. His bravery will never be forgotten.

To his family, Russ was more than a hero; he was everything! They remember him as a man who would hug every new person that walked into their home, saying thank you for being friends with his children, telling them he cared, loved them, and always made them feel welcome. It was a trademark of his kindness, a simple gesture that became a lifeline for so many of his children’s friends.

We may never fully grasp the depth of Russ’s impact, but we know he touched countless lives in ways they may never have realized they needed. As his family grieves, we invite you to help support them through this unimaginable time. Losing a loved one is hard enough but even more difficult when the life is taken by another person.

Russ is survived by his loving wife Yuanning, his sons Russ Jr., Brian, Timothy, and Matthew, along with his amazing grandchildren Furie, Hunter, Lilith, Brian Jr., Brenna, Elisa, and Kanin.
