I am raising money in honor of my father, Rudy Mjorud, who recently passed at the age of 100. Over the years, he supported me wholeheartedly in all of the local and international mission trips that I, his son Erik Mjorud, have dedicated myself to. This year, I will be leading mission efforts in both El Salvador and Guatemala. In El Salvador, fertile land will be purchased to grow fruit trees and vegetables to support a local community in need of our help. In Guatemala, a birthing center will be rebuilt to save the lives of hundreds of women and their newborn babies in a part of the world where infant deaths are currently at a high rate. I can think of no greater tribute to my Dad than to continue his legacy by providing food to the hungry and saving babies and their Moms. For all of you who know me, I highly endorse these causes and will put forth every effort I am able to help them thrive in the future.

Our family has always been involved in mission work in one form or another. Dad's brother, Herb Mjorud, was an evangelist who served in Sri Lanka and Minnesota. Other uncles have been ministers and aunts long time supporters of those in need. Personally, I have been on 85 mission trips over the past 25 years. But, the best missionary of them all was my Dad. His kind, loving and generous spirit helped him to live a wonderful life and he served as the perfect reflection of Jesus' love and grace. He was my best friend and always will be.
