Honoring Ronald Chaparro: Supporting Memorial Expenses

Donation protected
With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, Ronald Chaparro. On Monday, December 16th he lost his battle with diabetes and chronic liver disease. Ronald was known and loved by many, and while his struggles were great, he never allowed them to define him.

In his later years, he became deeply devoted to his faith, spending each day striving to be the best father he could possibly be, despite his own pain and suffering. He fought hard every single day to be there for us, even when it meant enduring immense pain. He told us that he must suffer to survive for us. He fought every day to stay strong for us, even as his own health declined.

More than anything, he wanted to be remembered not for his struggles, but for his love, faith, and devotion. Fishing was one of Ronald's greatest joys. He was a die-hard 49ers fan, Ronald never missed a game, always cheering on his team with a fiery spirit and a smile. His love of music was another big part of who he was, and he could always be found sharing his favorite songs with those around him.

Known lovingly as "Chili" or "Chili Bear Claw," Ronald was full of wisdom and warmth. He always had something important to say, whether it was urging us to be safe, or encouraging us to be prepared for life’s challenges, or reminding us of the importance of having a family. Ronald had great wisdom, humor, and love for his family.

Ronald also held his Native American heritage close to his heart, embracing it with pride and honoring it in everything he did. Throughout his life, Ronald faced countless challenges, including years of dialysis and the loss of both his legs. Yet, he never gave up, always prioritizing his children. Even as he endured immense hardship and pain, he fought relentlessly to be there for us, showing his unwavering love and commitment.

As much as he struggled, he wanted to be remembered for all his strength, love, and devotion—especially in his final years when his faith became his guiding light. Ronald’s final wish was to have a large memorial service in Los Banos, where his life would be celebrated for the love and joy he brought to others, rather than the battles he fought. He hoped to be remembered as strong, loving, and devoted rather than for the life struggles he endured.

We are deeply grateful for all the support he received during his life, and we want to honor him in the way he asked. In this difficult time, we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community to help cover the memorial expenses and support our family as we lay him to rest. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and allow us to honor his wishes in a meaningful way.

We will provide updates on the memorial arrangements as soon as they are finalized. Thank you so much for your love, kindness, and support during this challenging time. Your generosity will allow us to carry out Ronald’s final wishes and remember him for the incredible person he was.

With deepest appreciation,

Amber Chaparro, Autumn Chaparro, and Austin Chaparro
