My name is Krista, and it is with a truly broken heart that I share the passing of my father, Roger Barham. Writing these words feels unreal, and asking for help is something I never imagined doing — but I want to honor my dad’s life the way he deserved, and I simply cannot do it alone.

My father was a gentle soul with a heart big enough to hold everyone around him. He knew grief more deeply than most — losing my brother, my mother, and later my stepmother — yet he carried each loss with grace and quiet strength. Even when his own heart was heavy, he found ways to lift others up. That was who he was.

Roger spent his life serving and protecting others as a firefighter and police officer. He faced danger with courage, showed compassion without hesitation, and loved his family with every part of his being. To the world he was a hero in uniform, but to me, he was simply my rock — the steady, loving presence I could always count on.

Now, as I try to navigate this overwhelming grief, I'm also facing the unexpected costs of giving him the peaceful and dignified farewell he deserves. It hurts to ask for help, but honoring him properly means more to me than words can express.
