Help Us Honor the Life of Rodolfo “Rod” Rodriguez
My name is Jeannie Salinas, and I am reaching out on behalf of my family after the loss of my father, Rodolfo “Rod” Rodriguez, who passed away on April 28, 2026, in Mathis, Texas.
My dad was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served in the United States Army as an ammunition specialist, holding the rank of SP4. His service to this country was something he carried with quiet pride throughout his life. After his time in the Army, he went on to build a career as a foreman with Kiewit, where he earned the respect of those around him through hard work and leadership.
But more than anything, he was a family man.
He was a devoted husband to my mother, Juanita, for 39 years, and a loving father to me and my brothers, Rodolfo Jr., Jesse, and Adrian. He was also a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren who meant the world to him.
My dad had a way of bringing life into every room. He loved to dance and would teach anyone willing, sometimes using a broom or mop as his partner just to get people laughing. Family trips to Six Flags in San Antonio were some of his favorite memories, and you could always hear his voice above the crowd. He loved football, spending time with family and friends, and simply enjoying life.
He was also a man of faith, a parishioner at St. James Catholic Church, where he found strength and community.
He is now reunited with his parents, Antonio Rodriguez and Jesusa Salazar, and his siblings Lucy Rodriguez, Rosa Jimenez, and Jose Antonio Rodriguez.
As a family, we are asking for help to cover funeral and memorial expenses as we prepare to lay him to rest and honor the life he lived. This loss has been incredibly difficult, and any support would mean more than we can put into words.
We are deeply grateful for the care he received from Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline and ATEX Hospice, and for the love shown by family, especially his granddaughters who stood by him during his final days.
If you are able to give, share, or keep our family in your prayers, we truly appreciate it.
My dad will always be remembered for his strength, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in all of us.
