The Fairfield Union community lost a great coach, youth board member, mentor, volunteer, dad, brother, and son.
Rodney Tharp passed away unexpectedly on February 10th.
One thing about Rodney that most know is his absolute devotion to his family and his community. His kids, Lilly, RJ, and Layla, were the anchor that started his day and motivated him to be the best version of himself.
Along with his kids, you would always find Rodney at a baseball field, on the wrestling mat, or between the lines on a football field. He would offer his time to support, coach, and mentor all athletes in an effort to shape the next generation of young athletes in the FU community.
Now is the time for the community to support Rodney’s family as they navigate this difficult transition into what will be their new normal. Your support is directly tied to financial costs associated with funeral arrangements, legal costs for all necessary paperwork, monetary support for his three kids and their athletic journey, and finally, financial support for his family, specifically Tammy and Bob, as they ensure all needs are met to keep the household moving forward.
We greatly appreciate your support and generosity as the family and community continue forward embracing a legacy of doing things the right way as Rodney mentored to all those who were around him.
