Honoring Robyn: A Celebration of Life

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chavah Israel, Robyn's oldest daughter. Robyn was a daughter, a sister, a mother of 7 and grandmother of 13. As most of you know by now, my mother was taken away from us way too soon and way too young. She was just diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma [bile duct cancer] April 20th. She endured numerous rounds of Chemo and Immunotherapy, surgeries to have a port and drain placed, and took endless amounts of pills to try and attack the cancer from all sides. All with a positive, hopeful attitude. She was even able to spend two weeks in her favorite vacation spot, Seaside, Oregon in the most amazing ocean front room right at the turn around. We even made plans for next year.

After a bout of confusion in late August, she was taken to the hospital and seemed to be stable enough to discharge until she wasn't. Everything spiraled down so quickly my brother [in Texas] and I [in Hawaii] didn't even know if we would make it in time to say goodbye. After we landed in Seattle we were blessed with another week of smiles, hugs and limited communication before she passed in the early morning hours of the 12th with just her and I in the room.

I’m raising funds to give our mother the celebration of life gathering she requested. Our mother was the heart of our family, she wanted us not to dwell in sadness but to celebrate all of the beautiful moments we were blessed to share with her. Funds will go directly towards the celebration, food and decorations.

Unfortunately, she did not have a life insurance policy, and we are now faced with the financial challenge of planning her celebration of life on top of the fact that us siblings have all taken out credit cards and IOUs for flights and time off these past 6 months. We want to give her the kind of tribute she deserves—one filled with love, food, music, joy and memories that reflect who she was.

Any funds raised beyond the service will go directly toward covering rent for her home, where my two youngest brothers are still living. This will help them maintain stability during this difficult time.

We are so grateful for any support, whether through donations, kind words, prayer or simply sharing this page. Thank you for helping us celebrate my mom’s life the way she wished—for us to come together, not in sorrow, but in gratitude for all the love she gave.
