Hello my name is Blake and I am Rob’s nephew, I wanted to set this GoFundMe up to support my family during this incredibly difficult time and to honor my uncle’s life and legacy. He was an amazing man who fought so hard over the past several years, and we are all so proud of his strength, resilience, and the impact he made on so many people.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

This is Rob’s son, Nick, writing on his behalf.

I am saddened to share the news of my father’s passing, as his strenuous 4-year battle with pancreatic cancer came to an end early yesterday morning.

It was widely known how important our business and our community was to him. Prior to his passing, he asked me to reach out to all of you and express his deep gratitude for the incredible journey that he was so proud of.

As we all know, my father took extreme pride in his craft and put into practice what we all strive to do every day, which is doing business the right way. As a result of his convictions, partnerships were developed and turned into lifelong friendships that are near and dear to our family.

Two weeks ago, he and I had a conversation and reflected on his time in the business. He simply wanted me to relay to all of you that he truly loved sharing the wins, the losses, the hustle, the build, the networking, and the conversations with each of you. He felt grateful to have so many incredible people as a part of his story.

As we grieve the loss of a wonderful husband, father, and friend, we will celebrate the man that he was…

The man who was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive forms of cancer in 2022, given a short amount of time to live, and chose to look this awful disease in the eyes and say “bring the fight.”

The man who not only blazed trails in our industry with a knack for bringing innovative technology to market through multiple successful early-stage startups, but also helped influence a medical breakthrough in pancreatic cancer treatment as one of the first participants in the world for a new clinical trial.

His participation in Revolution Medicines’ Daraxonrasib therapy led to unexpected results that have oncologists encouraged about real clinical progress in the fight against pancreatic cancer. An article highlighting this came out just 18 days before his passing and was shared through multiple news outlets and by our clinical trial lead, Dr. David Hong at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

On behalf of my family, thank you all for the love and support. We will carry his legacy with strength and compassion.
