Honoring Roberts wish for a simple cremation
Donation protected
Robert went in for a routine procedure on March 21st and suffered a stroke while recovering from anesthesia. After showing no signs of improvement, we have made the difficult decision in agreement as a family to transition my father to comfort care. The physician said it could be minutes to a few days, but the goal now is just to keep Robert comfortable and resting with no pain so he can transition comfortably and peacefully, per his wishes.
My father wanted a simple, direct cremation; however, he has no life insurance due to several pre-existing conditions. He also lived on an extremely fixed income for a long time since becoming disabled, and due to the nature of how events unfolded, we were not prepared financially. Since 2022, when my mother unexpectedly passed away, I have been the caretaker and only support for my father and non-verbal autistic sister who requires around-the-clock care, and that has left me in a very financially unstable position. Even at this point in time, until we can find necessary placement for her, my disabled sister will remain under my 24-hour care because she has nowhere else to go.
My father will not live to see his next disability payment, which unfortunately leaves me in a position to have to ask for help. The only thing I want is to honor my father's wish of a simple cremation because he is my hero, my best friend, and one of the most amazing people anyone could ever have the pleasure of having in their lives. This world will be worse off without him, and he deserves to be honored in the way he wishes. Anything would help and mean the world.
