It is with the heaviest hearts that we share that Robert passed away this past week after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Robert was diagnosed in 2014, and from that moment on, he faced every challenge with strength, dignity, and determination. Even as Parkinson’s progressed, he refused to let it stop him from serving others. A dedicated personal trainer, he eventually had to give up the career he loved as his health declined. Still, he continued to show up in the ways he could — especially through our dog rescue, Dogs On The Move. Robert transported countless rescue dogs to safety and new beginnings, even after his diagnosis. That was who he was — selfless, committed, and full of heart.
In 2016, Bonnie was also dealt her own health battle when she was diagnosed with kidney disease. After years of fighting, she was blessed to receive a kidney transplant in 2022. While we are so grateful for that miracle, the medical journey for both of them has been long, exhausting, and financially devastating.
The extensive medical bills over the years — especially this past year — have placed an enormous burden on them. Now, in the midst of unimaginable grief, Bonnie is facing this new chapter alone. With Robert gone and his Social Security income now lost, she is left trying to pay the remaining medical expenses from both Robert and herself as well everyday living costs until she can find a new direction to manage this new normal.
Robert and Bonnie have spent years giving to others without hesitation — through rescue work, friendship, love, and service. Now Bonnie needs our help.
If you are able, please consider donating to help ease the financial strain during this incredibly difficult time. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward medical bills, funeral expenses, mortgage payments, and essential living costs.
If you cannot donate, please share this page and keep Bonnie and her children in your prayers.
Let’s rally around her the way she and Robert have always rallied for others over 56 years together.
With love and gratitude ❤️
