Family and friends of Robby Redding found a unique way to honor his memory by creating "Robby's Reef,” an artificial reef located in the Gulf of Mexico about 10 miles south of Dog Island.
This artificial reef was constructed by OAR in 2011 with a sculpture referred to as the Crabtor, additional structures were added in 2014 and 2016. After many storms/hurricanes, the Crabtor is in need of rebuilding. With this new project, OAR will install a 15' Super Reef Structure with a Bronze Memorial Plaque that will replace the centerpiece of Robby's Reef.
All funds raised will be donated to OAR to enhance and maintain the 15’ Super Reef Structure in celebration of Robby’s 40th Birthday!
See the video above showing the Crabtor (with lots of fish) provided by Chris Peters from the FSU Coastal and Marine Lab.
