Help Save 6H: A Lifeline for Veterans, Law Enforcement & Our Community

On July 24, 2025, tragedy struck the 6H family. Our beloved founder, Rob Schnars, a decorated U.S. military veteran, passed away unexpectedly. Rob dedicated his life to serving others—22 years in the military, including 3 combat tours, and later, founding 6H, an equine-based therapy program that became a beacon of hope for veterans, law enforcement officers, and families in crisis.

Rob’s commitment didn’t stop there. Even while working a full-time job, he sacrificed sleep to answer middle-of-the-night calls from veterans and officers in crisis. No matter the hour, Rob said the same words: “Come to the farm.” The gates were always open—24/7—to anyone who needed help. Rob would meet them, bring them to the horses, and talk them through their darkest moments. No one was ever turned away—not the veteran, not the officer, not their families.

Over the years, 6H has provided:

Bucket-list experiences for veterans and loved ones facing the end of life due to age or terminal illness.

Horseback rides and birthday celebrations for those in their final days.

Equine-assisted therapy and lessons for children who lost their active-duty or veteran parents.

Free and affordable riding lessons and camps for children of veterans and law enforcement families.

Affordable programs for children from all walks of life, teaching confidence, teamwork, and compassion through horse care.

Community events to help rescue animals find homes and hosting children waiting for adoption to gain media attention and loving families.

6H has always been about more than horses. It has been about saving lives, creating second chances, and building hope for veterans, families, and the entire community.

Now, we are facing an unimaginable challenge. Our farm—the heart of 6H—was wrongfully sold at a sheriff’s sale in November 2024, without our knowledge, due to attorney negligence and the bankruptcy court failing to send legal notices. We are in court fighting to reverse this injustice, but we must also prepare for the worst.

If we lose the property, the program, our rescue horses, and the countless people who depend on us will have nowhere to go. These horses aren’t just animals—they are partners in healing for those who have given everything to protect us.
