With Katie’s permission, we as her coworkers and friends, along with the hockey community, are coming together to support Mary Katherine “Katie” Gagne after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her husband, Robert J. Gagne, lovingly known to many as Gags.

Rob was a true hockey lifer and a deeply respected presence in the hockey world. From the NHL and AHL to junior leagues across the country, Rob dedicated his life to the game and to the people in it. After years of working at every level of hockey, he brought that passion home to Parma, opening Gagne’s Skate Shop and continuing to serve generations of players and families. His impact on the hockey community, both locally and far beyond, is impossible to measure.

To those who knew him, Rob was simply one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Kind, loyal, and always thinking of others, he took care of everyone around him, especially the many hockey players and families he supported over the years. He made friends easily wherever he went, and his loss is being felt by so many.

Katie, a dedicated teacher and a valued coworker and friend, shared 15 loving years of marriage with Rob. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, shared traditions, and deep connections with family and friends. As Katie faces this unimaginable loss, we want her to feel the same care and support that Rob so freely gave to others.
