Honoring Rita Golden's Legacy by helping Sherman & Soleil

Sherman and Soleil Golden are heartbroken to share the news of their mother's passing from cancer on Friday, December 6, 2024. Rita Golden was a gift from God. Her children and mine attended preschool at St. James United Methodist Church. Our kids grew up together in the children's ministry at St. James and then helped others through various mission opportunities while a part of the Youth Group. Rita served God in so many ways. She led the Bible Challenge program for many years. Most recently, she has been taking care of the little ones in the church nursery. Rita was always available to volunteer whenever needed, whether it was the Preschool Carnival and Silent Auction, Vacation Bible School, Trinity Soup Kitchen, etc. She was so incredibly proud of her children and was blessed to see them graduate from college: Sherman from Washington and Lee University in 2023 and Soleil from Harvard University in 2024.

As a long-time friend of the family, I am organizing this fundraiser to help Sherman and Soleil with hospital and funeral expenses. If you are able to participate with a gift, no matter how much, the family would be grateful beyond words. Please keep Sherman and Soleil in your prayers as they navigate these difficult times.
