Ricky's Story
On Monday, April 27, at 10:10 p.m., we lost our friend Ricky Reza. Ricky was a friend, brother, and uncle, loved by many in the Fort Bend community. He was a skilled carpenter at heart, working alongside his younger brother Favian in the mid-70s, 80s, and 90s under the guidance of their father, Felipe. They went on a journey, building remarkable churches and structures in Fort Bend's commercial and residential area for many years, but no one ever knew, only those close to them. In many ways, he was a true contributor to the community. Ricky's passion for working with his hands never faded, and even after retirement, he continued to contribute to the community by working with small local contractors on mid- to small-scale projects. His hobbies included fishing in Texas and listening to classic rock, especially music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. He was a big boxing fan and always enjoyed the Saturday night fights with family and friends. Ricky cherished the many moments he spent fishing with his father, Felipe, in Matagorda, Texas, creating unforgettable memories on numerous boat trips and deep-sea fishing. He loved that Texas Sun shining on his Ray Ban glasses as he always tried to catch the biggest fish possible! Ricky's connection to nature was special, and he always shared stories about his fishing adventures, which became one of his greatest memories.
Ricky's unexpected passing has left our small family facing a sadness in our hearts, but at this very moment, the family has come together through this difficult time, and we are working on doing everything in our hearts to give Ricky a ceremony, a proper one. Ricky's passing has been hard to cope with, but we know he is in a better place. We remember him as a humble person, always ready to laugh and listen to anyone, and always with a positive outlook on life. He was an inspiration to us all, family and friends, and lived all his life in Richmond, TX. His love for others and kindness were very rare in today's world and we will deeply miss him. All the family thanks everyone who became part of this moment, and united for Ricky. God Bless.
