Papa (Richard) was the very definition of a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Anyone who knew him could feel how deeply he loved his family—and how much joy he found in his garden. He grew a large garden every year to provide for his family, friends, and community. He took pride in knowing he was helping others. He served his country in the Army and was proud to tell us stories. He was the best story teller of all time. 

Around this time last year, Richard suffered his first stroke. Sadly, this year he experienced another, more severe stroke that took nearly everything from him. His body is tired now. He’s lived a full life and accomplished all he ever hoped to here on earth. For the past 10 days, Richard has been in the hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Granny (Bonnie) has not left his side for a moment. This December would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary. After nearly six decades together, she is heartbroken and uncertain about what the future holds.

As she begins to navigate life without the man who has loved and supported her for 59 years, we are asking for your help.

With Granny recently being diagnosed with dementia, we want to keep her life as stable and familiar as possible. All donations will go directly to Granny Bonnie to help cover groceries, bills, and funeral expenses. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
