It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, Richard Lee Smith. Richard left us peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family in hospice care.

Richard was diagnosed with aggressive Stage Four Colon Cancer at the end of last year. For more than six months, he fought with incredible strength and courage, enduring treatments with a spirit that inspired us all. Though he battled valiantly, his body could no longer accept further treatment, and our primary focus shifted to ensuring his comfort and peace in his final days. We are grateful that we were able to provide him with that comfort, allowing him to pass surrounded by those who cherished him most.

Our father was, without a doubt, the sweetest man on earth. His love for his family was boundless and evident in every action. He was a man who never asked for anything for himself, yet would selflessly give his last dollar to anyone in need. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While we were able to cover the immediate costs of his cremation, our family is now facing the challenge of funding a proper memorial service and celebration of his life. We desperately want to provide a space for all of Richard's family and friends to gather, share stories, say their final goodbyes, and honor the incredible man he was. This celebration would allow us to truly commemorate his life and the profound impact he had on us all.
