These funds are in memory of Richard Lee Ford, who passed away January 10th, 2026. Richard was a Vietnam War veteran and an active member and advocator for the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) program.
His wife Helen has made Quilts of Valor since 2012, supplying over 20 of these quilts to veterans during presentation ceremonies. Each one of these quilts is handmade and is crafted to match the personality of the beneficiary with Helen's signature pattern of Hugs and Kisses. It takes over 450 hours to create a single quilt.
100% of the donations made in Richard's name will fund material purchases for future quilts. Any additional available funds beyond the material cost for the quilts will be donated to the Independence Fund, to fund assistance to Vietnam and other war veterans.
