Johns Hopkins Hospital has been such a huge part of our family’s history from the moment I, Katie, became an intern and ultimately donated my kidney to Dad at Hopkins as a second-year resident, to his final years receiving world-class care for two malignancies in the oncology division, and many other hospitalizations and doctor's visits in between.
In his final days, one of his greatest sources of joy was learning I would be training to become a fetal therapist at Hopkins. My mother, father, sister, and I discussed what to do to honor him after his passing a few days before he left, and all felt that a donation in his honor to the Johns Hopkins Center for Fetal Therapy would be a way for his memory to live on with me as I embark on this new career path and honor how important Hopkins has been to our family.
In lieu of flowers, our family appreciates contributions to this incredible Center, which works to treat babies even before they enter the world. We hope to raise as many funds as possible to allow for the greatest impact we can provide and allow his namesake to be with the Center for many years to come.
