Raul Castañeda ("Mi Compa")

It is with a heavy heart that the I and the Castañeda family share that Raul Castañeda passed away on the evening of Tuesday July 9, 2024. Raul is survived by his two children: Cristian and Natalia. Raul was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin to his family members.

We pray that God give his children, family and friends the strength to navigate through these difficult times. Raul's memory will not only live on through his family but through the many lives he touched in their day to day interactions. Raul will always be remembered for his contagious laugh and smile which illuminated whichever room he was in. Raul led by example by always doing the things he loved (primarily immersing himself in the outdoors) like biking, snowboarding, fishing, and running marathons.

On July 9, 2024, Raul was on a bike ride in preparation for the Century (100 Mile) Ride -"Summer of Love" that he was suppose to partake on Saturday, July 13, 2024. While crossing a crosswalk, he was fatally stuck by an SUV and passed immediately upon impact. I share only to say that I know my Compa did not suffer.

Raul was such an "AWESOME" dude. He was the best father anyone could ask for. He had the gift of gab...always able to fit in, spark a conversation with anyone that made you feel like you've known him for years. Raul spent his life teaching us through example to do what we love because everyday is a gift.

Please pray for the Castañeda family as we mourn the loss of our beloved Raul (Mi Compa): father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many people.

Funeral expense donations are greatly appreciated. In remembrance of Raul's life, a funeral and celebration of life will be held; details will be forthcoming.
