My family is heartbroken and saddened by the sudden death of my youngest sibling Rashaud Martin. Gone too soon.
Rashaud was a loving and humble son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Rashaud was the type of person to always make sure you had a smile on your face in his presence. He would give you the shirt off his back if he could. He was talented in many things such as music producing and art. He also enjoyed gaming. However, his passion was in IT, computer programming and engineering.
Rashaud graduated from FSCJ with his Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications on May 1, 2015. Unfortunately, in October of 2018 he was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
On October 24, 2025, my brother had to be Baker Acted for an episode and shockingly died in the custody of JSO on the way to a Mental Health Facility. He was 32 years old.
As our family is trying to cope from this unexpected loss, we are now also faced with the unexpected challenges related to funeral and legal expenses. We want to honor our loved one and celebrate his life by giving him a proper memorial service.
We are reaching out to the community of our friends and family, and anyone else's life Rashaud may have touched. If you are able to contribute from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and appreciate you. If you are not able to contribute monetarily, a share to your friends, family and social groups would be a tremendous help.
Your support will go towards covering
- Funeral and memorial service expenses
- Cremation costs
- Legal fees towards Rashaud's case
- Anything left over will go towards a non-profit organization dedicated to schizophrenia and or mental health.
We again thank you for all the continuous prayers, love, calls and check ins. This is one of the hardest losses we've experienced. We are extremely grateful for all of your support!!
With love and gratitude
The Martin and Ashley Family
