My mother, Ranita White, died at the young age of 58, and we need help covering the costs of her funeral to give her a proper sendoff.
Ranita was battling cancer, specifically Multiple Myeloma, which is a form of blood cancer. The cancer affected her organs, causing her to lose one of her kidneys and her spleen. On November 24th, 2025, she was admitted to the ICU and was put on life support. There, she spent nearly 2 months fighting for her life, spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's in the hospital. She was released on January 5th, 2026.
My mother lost everything.
Following her release from the hospital, her existing life and medical insurance plans lapsed. This forced us into a long, difficult struggle to resecure life insurance for her. This struggle caused her to go nearly a month without some of her necessary chemotherapy treatments. Even after we finally obtained medical insurance for her, her coverage still wasn’t accepted. Due to her condition, we also were unable to secure her life insurance. At this time, I'd been struggling financially while trying to care for her, and I filed bankruptcy for her on her behalf to help with her bills. She moved in with me after being released from the hospital so that I could better care for her. My mother always took care of me and others, constantly putting the needs of others before her own.
I have no idea what to do without my mom.
She was my strength, and she always helped me through tough times. She always made sure I knew that, no matter what I was going through, things would always be okay. She had a wonderful ability to always see the best in every situation, always maintaining a positive outlook on life, even in spite of her struggle. She always brightened any room she walked into, and losing her hurt more than words could ever convey. She was an amazing woman, and an even better mother and grandmother.
I don't usually post things on social media, as I often have a hard time asking for help, always trying to handle things on my own. But I really do need support right now, and my family and I would be eternally grateful if you could offer some.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to listen to our story.
