Honoring Ramiro: A Star Among the Stars
On December 20th, 2024, we lost our beloved son, Ramiro Willis Calvello Hynes. He was a bright light in our lives, a young soul who looked up at the stars with wonder and dreamed of galaxies far beyond our own. Space was his passion—its endless horizons reflected both his boundless imagination and the genuine kindness he radiated to his family.
Ramiro's departure has left a void that words cannot fill, but we are determined to honor his memory in a way that reflects his spirit and continues his legacy. Through this fundraiser, we hope to support three causes that deeply resonate with our family:
1. A Memorial Tree in Ramiro’s Name at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
The trails at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center have been a place of solace for the family during this time of grief. We want to plant a tree—a symbol of life, growth, and resilience—in a place where family, friends, and loved ones can gather, reflect, and feel connected to Ramiro’s spirit. Just like the stars he loved so dearly, his memory will live on and inspire others.
2. Suicide Prevention Initiatives
Mental health awareness and suicide prevention are causes close to our hearts. We hope to contribute to programs that provide education, resources, and support for those struggling with their mental health, ensuring that no one feels alone in their darkest moments.
3. Responder Alliance
First responders are often the first to arrive in moments of crisis. Their courage and compassion deserve our support. By contributing to Responder Alliance, we hope to ensure they have access to mental health resources, training, and the care they need after facing trauma in their line of duty.
Ramiro was a dreamer, a stargazer, and a kind soul who would have wanted his story to make a difference in the lives of others. Your support—no matter how small—will help us honor him in a way that carries forward his light and love.
Thank you for reading Ramiro's story, for your kindness, and for helping us turn this unimaginable loss into a legacy of hope, healing, and love.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Emilie, Greg, Sereno, and Kieran
