In the early hours of Saturday February 22, 2025, our beloved friend, Poppy, brother, husband, and father, took his final breaths.

He fought courageously until the end and when he departed this world, he was at peace.

Those of you that knew my dad, know that his heart and compassion didn’t just end with the human species. He took every opportunity to connect with nature and its inhabitants. He could mimic any animal noise you could imagine and he knew for sure every one of those birds were talking back to him. We may have laughed, but we all knew they were, too.

He didn’t just love hunting for the hunt, he loved feeling immersed in nature. Sitting in the tree, listening to the leaves rustle in the wind, watching the squirrels and deer eat the feed he laid down in front of him, that was his peace. The arrow hardly left his quiver in the last few years, his hunt became more the desire to be a part of nature.

We’re creating this GoFundMe so that we could make a large donation as a family in his honor to The Cape May County Zoo. Our family frequented this zoo more times than any of us could imagine and their work with wildlife feels appropriate to be in his honor. I will include each and every name on this donation so that the recipients know the magnitude of impact that my dad had.
