Our hearts are heavy as we share the loss of a truly special young man, Philip, who passed away just days after completing his sophomore year at Oakville Senior High and days before his 16th birthday from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Despite the challenges he faced every day, Philip lived his life with incredible strength, kindness, and joy. He never complained—always smiling, always loving, always reminding us of what truly matters.

While most 16-year-olds dream of getting a driver’s license or their first car, Philip had a different wish. Since driving was never an option for him, he dreamed of celebrating his 16th birthday on a cruise—feeling the ocean breeze and enjoying an adventure with the people he loved most. Sadly, that dream was never fulfilled.

In honor of Philip’s beautiful spirit, we are raising funds to help his family in three meaningful ways:
  • To send his family on the cruise he always dreamed of, allowing them to experience the joy he never got to and to honor his memory with love.
  • To place a memorial bench at his favorite park, where friends, family, and the community can sit, reflect, and feel close to him.
  • To support his family with any other needs during this difficult time and the many unseen costs that come with losing a child.

Philip was more than a student—he was a son, a big brother, a best friend, and an inspiration. His life, though short, left a powerful mark on everyone who knew him. Help us keep his memory alive in a way that reflects the love, strength, and joy he gave so freely to the world.

Thank you for helping us honor Philip.
