Honoring Peggy Jennings: Help with Final Costs
Donation protected
Please consider donating (any amount) to help pay for medical, funeral and end of life costs for the sudden loss of my mother, Margaret (Peggy) Jennings.
On Saturday July 13 at 3:22pm, we said good-bye to my mom, Peggy Jennings, from complications of pneumonia. She was 77. I held her hand, Ben held her hand, I stroked her mermaid blue hair that she was so proud of, and we said I love you as she took her last breath. She had only been in the hospital since Thursday but the infection just overwhelmed her body. Sadly Penny was away all week at a summer camp so she didn’t know anything until she got home, two days later. It has been very difficult for her too because she and her Gaga (grandma) were so close.
My mom faced and fought many health battles these last 12 years especially. Spinal fusion surgeries, joint replacements, foot drop paralysis, many falls and physical therapy rehabilitation stays, assisted living, transitioning into a full time skilled nursing facility, loss of the her ability to stand or walk, influenza, COVID, and pneumonia. It was difficult to be so far away (she was in North Carolina) so we moved her here to Minnesota in 2016. But these last 2 years in the skilled nursing home were really hard, really an ongoing challenge. It is with that in mind that I remind myself that she is now free of pain and worry.
If you knew my mom, you know that she lit up a room, with her laugh, and her smile and her vibrant personality. Her eyes twinkled like no one else I’ve ever met. It has been hard to see her fade these last few years. My mom had no life insurance or any assess or savings. Which is why we are struggling to pay some of these end of life bills. All donations go towards her services, fees, and housing obligations.

At some point we hope to have a celebration in her honor, but for now please consider doing something kind for someone else, plant some flowers (DO NOT send me flowers - I have cats and can’t have them!), go out to eat for some Italian food which was her favorite, or treat yourself to a strawberry milkshake. Please try to celebrate her, celebrate that we knew her and loved her and were able to witness her shine, if just for a little while.
Thank you everyone, for your years of love and support. It has meant the world to us.
❤️ love Kara, Ben, and Penny Boyd
