On Aug 21st 2025 our son Michael Patrick Mehaffy was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident.
He was 33 years old and living life to the fullest. He had just started Nursing School and was planning to become a nurse so that he could help others.
He had a great love of animals. He was a real proponent of rescue dogs. Every dog he ever had was a rescue.
As a young man he loved Snowboarding, Karate and Motorcycle riding.
He left behind his wife Caitlin, sister Megan, brother James, nieces Chloe and Jenny, nephews Harrison and Leto, mother Lana and father Michael. He will always be remembered as a generous caring person.
All donations will be sent to his favorite local no kill animal shelter. This is what he would have wanted for his memory.
WE LOVE YOU PATRICK
UPDATE 2/23/26
First Lana and I want to personally thank everyone who has donated. After a lot of searching we have found a Great animal rescue we are excited to donate to. They are Safe Haven Animal Rescue https://shark37.care/index.html Please take a look at what they do. Lana and I visited them last week so that we could see for ourselves and we were impressed. The people who operate the shelter, the board and everyone there obviously really care about these dogs. The dedicate all of their time either running a thrift store to raise money for the shelter or taking care of the dogs which is a full time job just feeding and cleaning kennels. The facility is nice and clean. They have set up a pavilion are that they use for educational events.
So again for those who have already donated THANK YOU. For those who have not please do as we will continue to support Safe Haven and every little bit helps.
