Pappy Biggins aka Jim/James Bonser was an unforgettable man who welcomed all to his faire family, clan Biggins, the underaged (myself included), the genuine enthusiasts with non-compliant costumes, those looking for family , those who had nowhere else to go and the list goes on. From his beginnings in friends of faire, to his many years working beverage, he touched so many lives and now there are Biggins’ around the globe. Despite Pappys’ wishes to only do a candlelight tribute on his birthday (still happening), I cannot stand the fact that a celebration of life is in limbo because of finances. As Lura said fondly, “your Pappy” could tell a story with only three words and we all know how great a storyteller he was. I really would like to gather whomever wants to join and be able to reminisce, share stories and maybe some photos. Pappy was like a second father to me and we shared over thirty years of memories. And here we are, the blind (myself aka Chastity), leading the blind (Lura). All the funds will go to secure a space and hopefully some nosh. Maybe we can even do a last potluck as one final tribute to his infamous “pink & blue” parties.

Update number two….. upon doing more research, I increased the goal amount for the celebration event….. please be patient and kind….. I have no clue as to what I’m doing and apparently I’m driving this car ….. and I’m driving BLIND…. many of you probably don’t remember me as I stopped my faire experience earlier than most and I have no social media presence except for one related to hamster rescue….I feel weird and wrong changing the amount but here we are….. but seriously, everyone’s generosity is appreciated and a testament to how impactful Pappy really was…..I’m planning as fast as I can
