Rolando Adao Lorico Sr., also known as Papa Rolly and Lolo, was a man of unmatched strength and willpower. He lived his life with a resilience that inspired all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. A lover of the simple joys, Papa Rolly enjoyed playing the penny slots at the casino, always hopeful that one day, he would hit the jackpot to support his family. It was never about the win, but the joy of the experience and the possibility of a better tomorrow.

In his prime, Papa Rolly was the epitome of vitality. He loved golfing, fishing, and most of all, cooking his infamous Kare Kare, a dish that everyone knew him for and loved. His passion for life extended to his time spent with family and friends, where he often found joy in singing karaoke, playing mahjong, and even serving as the DJ at the weekly veterans' senior citizen events. He was always the life of the party, spreading warmth and happiness wherever he went.

Though he was known for being strong-willed and sometimes hard-headed, it was through these traits that Papa Rolly taught us the most important lessons in life: to be strong, confident, and carefree. His zest for life was a reminder to live with passion and joy, to be unapologetically ourselves, and to never back down from a challenge.

Papa Rolly, we love you so much. You may no longer be with us, but we feel your presence in every song, every game of mahjong, and in the way we carry your lessons with us every day. We pray that you continue to watch over us, guiding us through this life with the same strength and wisdom that you always embodied.

Papa Rolly was as independent in life as he was in passing, choosing to leave us peacefully in his sleep at 1:28 AM on March 6, 2025. We will forever cherish the memories of the man who gave so much of himself to everyone he loved. Rest in peace, Lolo. You will always be in our hearts.
