Our beautiful mom, Maria Gonzalez, passed away on June 12th. What was supposed to be a routine recovery from gallbladder surgery turned into something none of us were prepared for.
Just a little over two weeks ago, she went in for surgery. At the time, we thought she’d be home soon, healing with us. But within a week, her health took a sudden and sharp turn. A week after her surgery (June 3rd) she was diagnosed with an aggressive and advanced cancer, and everything changed overnight.
She celebrated her 58th birthday in the hospital last Friday, June 6th. That was her last good day. After that, her condition declined quickly. Despite everything the doctors tried her body was already too weak. She passed away peacefully a little over a week after her diagnosis, surrounded by her children, with love in the room and our voices in her ears.
Maria was such a light. She was a true social butterfly, full of warmth, laughter, and love. She made friends everywhere she went, and everyone who met her loved her instantly. Losing her so suddenly has left a huge hole in our hearts.
Her passing was devastating and unexpected. We had no time to prepare emotionally or financially. We’re now doing our best to honor her memory and lay her to rest, but the cost of funeral and burial arrangements is more than we can carry alone.
We’re humbly asking for any support you can give whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this page. Every bit helps us give Maria the farewell she truly deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and kindness.
