Yesterday, our lives changed forever when our mom drowned saving her 8 and 10-year-old grandchildren. Her selflessness and courage are a testament to the kind of person she was—always putting her family first, no matter the cost. The shock and pain of losing her so suddenly is something my sisters and I are still struggling to process. We are heartbroken, and the weight of this loss is almost too much to bear.

As we try to navigate the days ahead, we are faced with unexpected funeral expenses and the urgent need for me to travel from Kansas to Oklahoma to help lay her to rest. These costs are overwhelming, and we simply do not have the resources to manage them on our own. Being together as a family to honor her memory is so important to us, and we want to give her the farewell she deserves.
