On April 10th, just a day before his birthday, my father suffered an aneurysm and a heart attack. Though his heart stopped three times, he fought for many days as doctors did everything possible. Unfortunately, the damage was too severe, and he remains unconscious. Because he can no longer breathe on his own, he will pass shortly after the ventilator is removed and then the final arrangements will begin.

My father was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve. He had a rare way of turning even the hardest hearts into friends and was always there to guide his family and friends away from hardship and toward a better, more righteous path in life. His bright smile and happy energy stayed with anyone who crossed his path. As his eldest son, alongside my younger sister, we will keep his memory alive as an echo of the man he was to us and so many others.

The funds raised will help cover the costs of my father’s final wishes. Anything remaining will be set aside for my 14 year old sister’s future.

El 10 de abril, apenas un día antes de su cumpleaños, mi padre sufrió un aneurisma y un ataque al corazón. Aunque su corazón se detuvo tres veces, luchó durante muchos días mientras los médicos hacían todo lo posible. Lamentablemente, el daño fue demasiado grave y permanece inconsciente. Debido a que ya no puede respirar por sí mismo, fallecerá poco después de que se le retire la maquina que le da oxigeno a sus pulmones.

Mi padre era un hombre que expresaba sus sentimientos con total sinceridad. Tenía una capacidad excepcional para convertir incluso a los corazones más duros en amigos, y siempre estuvo presente para guiar a su familia y amistades lejos de las dificultades, orientándolos hacia un camino de vida mejor. Su brillante sonrisa y su energía alegre permanecían en cualquiera que se cruzara en su camino. Como su hijo mayor, junto con mi hermana menor, mantendremos viva su memoria como un eco del hombre que fue para nosotros y para tantos otros.

Los fondos recaudados ayudarán a cubrir los costos de los últimos deseos de mi padre. Cualquier cantidad restante se reservará para el futuro de mi hermana de 14 años.
