Honoring Our Beloved Mother
Donation protected
On the morning of July 1st at 4:52am, our loving mother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60.
She had recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive auto-immune disorder called HLH, triggered by a reactivation of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Though she was showing promising signs of improvement from initial treatments, she suddenly suffered a massive brain bleed near her brain stem.
Our mother immigrated to the United States in 1990 in pursuit of a better future — not just for herself, but for her family and community. She went on to become a scientist specializing in diabetes and cardiovascular research, dedicating her career to improving the lives of others. To her colleagues, she was a brilliant and compassionate leader who loved mentoring young scientists. To us, she was simply Mom — our iron woman. Strong, wise, and endlessly supportive, she showed us by example that no challenge was too great to face with courage, faith, and determination.
We are devastated by her loss. She leaves behind her husband David, and her two sons, Jack and Kim . As our family navigates the grief of losing her, we would appreciate any help at all.
If you feel moved to help, any donation — no matter the size — would be a tremendous support to our family during this heartbreaking time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love.
