Honoring the Life of David Charles
David Charles was a brother, an uncle, a best friend—and to many, the quiet backbone of a neighborhood.
David was dependable in every sense of the word.
He showed up. He followed through. He took care of his responsibilities—whether that meant going to work, keeping his commitments, or even making sure he never missed his doctor’s appointments. David believed in doing things the right way.
David was a master flooring technician, and the things he could do with a floor were truly a gift. His hands carried skill, patience, and vision. What others saw as just flooring, David transformed with care and precision. His work spoke for itself. Floors he touched lasted—because David believed in doing things right the first time. He took pride in his craft, and that pride showed in every detail.
For David, flooring wasn’t just work—it was something he was gifted to do.
Beyond flooring, David was known as the handiest handyman anyone could ask for. If something needed to be fixed, repaired, or figured out, David was the one people turned to. From small problems to major repairs, he never made it complicated—he simply handled it.
He didn’t boast about his abilities.
He just showed up and did the work.
As the superintendent of his building, David became the person everyone relied on. When something went wrong, the answer was always the same: “Call David.” And David never made it a burden.
He was kind.
He was calm.
He was fair.
David wanted people to be treated right. He was open-handed and open-hearted, always willing to give whatever he could—his time, his skills, his energy, his help. Giving wasn’t something David talked about. It was simply how he lived.
He quietly helped the church across the street. He cleaned around the trees. He looked out for people without being asked and without ever seeking recognition. He was loved not because he was loud, but because he was always there.
And now… David is gone.
On December 27,th 2025 just after Christmas, without warning or illness, David suddenly collapsed in front of his building. There were no signs. No preparation. No understanding. One day David was here—and the next, he was not.
The family is heartbroken.
There is a void that cannot yet be explained. A hole in the neighborhood. A silence on the block—on Rogers Avenue, in Brooklyn. People wake up expecting David to be there, only to remember that he isn’t.
That kind of absence is hard to process.
That kind of presence cannot be replaced.
Right now, the family is asking for help—not because David didn’t give enough, but because he gave everything he had while he was here.
We are asking for your support to help us give Prince David Charles the beautiful memorial he deserves—one that reflects the man he was and the love he poured into others.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden on the family during this incredibly painful time. Your kindness will help us honor a man whose life mattered deeply to so many.
David was there for everyone.
Now, we are asking—please help us be there for him.
This fundraiser will help cover funeral and memorial expenses as we honor David’s life and legacy. Any support—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support during this season.
